Australian defensive lineman Adam Gotsis continues his NFL career after signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 6’4″, 287 pound 27 year old Gotsis, a native of Melbourne, Australia, has spent that past four seasons with the Denver Broncos after being drafted by Denver in the second round (63rd overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

After recovering from knee surgery in the off season, he became a free agent this past March.

His career totals with Denver (2016-19) include 109 tackles, 13 passes defensed, 5.0 sacks and two forced fumbles. In 2019, Gotsis played in nine games and recorded 16 tackles and two passes defensed prior to missing the last three games of the season with a knee injury. He appeared in all 16 games in 2018, making 12 starts and totaling 38 tackles, six passes defended, 3.0 sacks and two forced fumbles.

A four-year letterman at Georgia Tech with 37 starts, the 6-foot-4½-inch, 287-pound defensive lineman started his football career in Australia after discovering the game playing Madden football. Then he got hooked after watching the 2006 Rose Bowl between Texas and Southern California. He attended Kew High School in Australia and competed in Australian Rules Football for eight years before playing American Rules Football in the Gridiron Victoria for the Monash Warriors in Melbourne where he earned league MVP honors in 2010. He is the highest-drafted Australian-born player in NFL history.
